My name is Carter.

I’m all about the process and direct to client flow. My time in the design community has shown me the ugly side of manufacturing, which made me appreciate the necessity for clarity and thoughtful objects.

I first landed myself in Milwaukee as part of a mid-century furniture restoration crew. They were a small, but passionate group that showed me the ropes in all it took to bring historic pieces back to life. The owners started with fewer pieces and eventually moved up to restoring pieces by Adrian Pearsall, Hans Wegner, and the Eames. I quickly fell in love with the era and dove into the process headfirst. I soon came to realize that what I really enjoyed doing was the front-end management and order fulfillment. As there wasn't much design work to be done, I was able to take a step back and look at problems from a different perspective. I grew into a confident leader throughout my time there and found myself looking for where great design comes from in the modern day.

In Kansas City, I transitioned into high-end furniture. I was determined to understand what goes into pieces of this caliber. My willingness to learn has moved me to a place where I can confidently problem-solve and manage projects from start to finish. With no history of CAD modeling at the shop, I was able to provide valuable iterations that would have normally taken days to draft out. Providing the crew with the resources they need to work efficiently and effectively has enabled me to reach my current position.

As someone who’s been around shops with endless moving parts and internal struggles, I can bring the necessary commitment to quality and efficient workflow strategies. I love the design community and what it promotes, although creativity can be hindered by real work factors if not managed correctly. I want to express my passion for keeping quality products alive and well.
